Cross-Border Ecommerce Is Expensive For Shoppers And Buyandship Is Changing The Game

Cross-border ecommerce is expected to grow at 25% until 2024, but the biggest problem is the high shipping fee for customers. Hong Kong-based Buyandship is now focusing on India and has signed up local partners for last-mile delivery.
SQ Capital participated in the US$2.2 million pre-series B round of e-commerce & logistics tech startup Buyandship.

Buyandship, a cross-border e-commerce shipping services company based in Hong Kong, has secured US$2.2 million in pre-Series B funding round led by existing investor Infinity Venture Partners. Other investors include Asia-focused VC firm SQ Capital and unnamed strategic angel investors, besides Buyandship’s key management.

【信報財經】近年網購風行全球,消費者對物流需求有增無減,在派遞上門、門市自取之外,近來亦流行智能儲物櫃(Smart Locker),讓用戶24小時隨時取件,毋須等候速遞員上門或等門市開門營業。Pakpobox於2014年成立,現時在全港60個地點,包括商場和住宅區,約有3500個智能櫃門,每月包裹數量達2萬件,香港郵政也是其客戶之一。除了硬件,智能儲物櫃背後的系統都是他們自行編寫。
Pakpobox發展至今4年,已累計融資近200萬美元(約1560萬港元),投資者包括日本創投基金Infinity Venture Partners、物流公司「遞四方速遞」(4PX),以及本地創投基金SQ Capital等等。該公司去年營業額達1000萬港元,除了香港市場,已擴展至內地、澳門、印尼、澳洲、馬來西亞、馬爾代夫,旗下合共有超過1.8萬個智能櫃門。

Pakpobox Raised Pre-Series A Funding For Its Asia Smart Locker Platform

Pakpobox Hong Kong Limited, a smart locker platform in Asia, has recently in December 2017 closed its pre-Series A funding round for US$1.2 million led by Infinity Venture Partners, a Japan-based VC. SQ Capital Group and The Aria Group also took part.
This new money takes Hong Kong-based Pakpobox to total funding of close to US$2 million from investors to date. In April 2017, Pakpobox received funding from Betatron and Mr Kevin Li, founder, and chairman of 4PX Express, a leading China-based cross-border logistics solutions provider that was invested by Alibaba’s logistics arm Cainiao in 2016.
